Cardwell by the Sea
The Jewel of the Cassowary Coast
Activities & Lifestyle

Cardwell is a beautiful sleepy little town on the shores of the Cassowary Coast / Island Coast in the Green Tropics of North Queensland.
Outdoors is fantastic.
The Hinchinbrook Island a stone throw across the water. A whole range of pristine islands and the Great Barrier Reef - all providing excellent opportunities for boating, fishing, snorkling and camping.
In your backyard is the National Heritage listed mountains covered by rain forests. The fertile and beautiful Kennedy Valley cradles between the mountains with the historic Kirrama Range road winding up the edge of the valley and over the mountains to the Outback.
Farming activities include Aquaculture (prawn and barramundi), bananas, sugarcane, pineapples, lichees, mangos, cattle and much more.
Cardwell is situated halfway between Townsville and Cairns with Ingham about 50km south and Tully about 50km north - both with hospitals.
The town has a Primary School (a second primary school 6Km out of town in the Kennedy Valley) and Secondary Schools in both Ingham and Tully with a daily bus service to access.
Such is Life in Cardwell by the Sea!
